Bio
I’m a UX researcher (quantitative/mixed-methods) at Facebook, working with the Central Integrity team to minimise harmful experiences across Facebook's family of apps.
Before my move into industry I spent a decade as an academic psychologist. Most recently I was an associate professor of psychology (2015-2019) at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I led the Social Minds, Brains, and Genes Laboratory. I was also the director of Royal Holloway's MSc in Clinical Psychology (2017-2019), and lectured across several undergraduate and postgraduate courses. I still maintain an active academic research programme and I hold the position of honorary research fellow at Royal Holloway.
My research expertise lies at the intersection of social, personality, and political psychology. I have published extensively in these areas: ~50 academic papers, many appearing in major journals in the field, including Psychological Science, Journal of Experimental Psychology General, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Cognition.
My research has been recognised with career awards (e.g. the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences’ ‘Early Career Development Award 2017’; a British Academy ‘Rising Star Award 2019’) and a range of invited talks at many leading institutions.
